A federal judge has issued an injunction against a recent executive order requiring written consent from state and local governments to resettle refugees in their communities.

David Bohm was one of the authors of the amicus brief supporting the request for the injunction on the behalf of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, Catholic Charities USA, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and its Milwaukee Synod, ADL, the Jewish Community Relations Councils of St. Louis and Washington, DC, and 22 additional interfaith agencies.

According to David,
“The Judge’s decision to issue the injunction is important to maintain the integrity of the refugee resettlement program, to allow family reunification, and to prevent dismantling of the infrastructure which provides services to refugees in communities around the country.”
